Post-Construction / Renovation Cleaning in Carnegie Hill

Renovations in Carnegie Hill are often restorations — a townhouse brought back, a pre-war co-op's kitchen and baths redone around original moldings and floors. The dust they leave behind gets into every profile of that detail, and clearing it without harming the finishes is the job our Post-Construction Cleaning is built for.

Post-Construction / Renovation Cleaning for Carnegie Hill Homes

The landmarked homes between 86th and 98th present a specific problem after construction: the fine dust settles into plaster moldings, ceiling medallions, picture rails, casement tracks and the joints of herringbone floors, and the surfaces it settles on are irreplaceable. We remove it in passes — bulk first, a second pass after resettling, then detail — using soft brushes and cloths on moldings and medallions, a vacuum with a brush head on paneling and shutters, and never a wet cloth on plaster. Floors are done last each pass with a neutral product, damp-mopped, never soaked.

Residue is treated the same way: paint splatter lifted from floors and hardware with a product suited to the surface, caulk and adhesive removed from new marble and tile with non-abrasives, grout haze cleared with the right cleaner so the new stone isn't etched. New cabinetry is cleaned inside; vents, fixtures and light fittings cleared; window tracks and sills detailed; walls and baseboards wiped. The kitchen and bathrooms are sanitized to finish, and marble is dried so it doesn't spot.

Carnegie Hill projects are frequently managed by a contractor, architect or house manager, and we're glad to coordinate dates and access with them directly. For a whole townhouse we send a team and clean floor by floor as the trades leave. Pricing is a flat figure from photos or a short video of the finished work, confirmed on a quick call. Anything short of the standard is re-cleaned free within 24 hours, including a further pass if dust resettles beyond a light film.

Pricing is a flat rate confirmed before we arrive — use the instant estimator for a range in seconds. For everything this service covers and how we approach it, see our Post-Construction / Renovation Cleaning page, or read more about cleaning in Carnegie Hill.

Post-Construction / Renovation Cleaning in Carnegie Hill: Questions

Dry, with soft brushes and a vacuum with a brush head, then a barely damp cloth on painted surfaces only. Plaster and old paint don't tolerate a wet cloth, and we don't use one.
